Third Day at Home

This is now my third full day that I have been home from Huntersville. So far so good! My first two days went well, and today was no exception. Guy got me before he went out to the stores this morning. Yes, I had to get up early, and also go to bed a little before 9 pm last night, but both of those conditions beat the heck out of staying in bed until 2 or 3 pm!

Before he left for his errands, Guy fixed my morning medicine, and he prepared a breakfast of puréed chicken breast spread, pancakes, cheese grits, plus some snacks. Actually I am still on the prednisone, still ravenous, and have snacked all day! This crazy eating really must stop!

While Guy was gone, I called the medical records person at Huntersville to start my request for my complete record for this rehab stay. Also I have revamped my AI art galleries and added more items to them. Finally I began working on a new section on this website about rehab facilities and Medicare Advantage insurance appeals. Yes, this is my art site, and it may seem farfetched for me to include this kind of information on the site. However, it is my hope that the information posted will be useful to someone. When my physical therapist told me that only a few patients file appeals and most just leave, I felt disheartened. It is one thing if someone leaves because they believe they are well enough. Maybe they just want to go back home. If someone thinks they need more recovery time in a facility, however, I believe they should at least file a 1st level appeal, which is easy to do and carries no financial risk. The insurance companies should not be allowed to prevent people from getting the care they need.

Blessings, everyone! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
