Well, Hello Again
I rediscovered this website today. Although I recall having set up a site using the Kadence WordPress theme, I had completely forgotten that I had done this much work on it. I had intended making this site to be my online art studio, a home in which to put my art work. It didn’t matter whether or not the art was a painting or drawing that took hours, days, or months to complete, or whether it was a very rudimentary sketch. Although it is important for me to bring joy to others through art, this site was very much for me. This would be where I could see my art and maybe be able to tell how much I had grown as an artist. It would be a place where I could truly be myself, where I could try new things without fear of being judged by others or even judged by myself.
On the night of January 25, 2022, I suffered an ischemic stroke in the rear portion of my brain. The stroke came without any recognized warning. The stroke left me with numbness on the left side of my face, numbness in my left hand and the fingers of that hand, and in part of my left forearm. The numbness in the forearm has long subsided but the other numbness (now more of a prickly pins-and-needles sensation) is still with me. On January 26, 2022, I left for the hospital emergency room. I was admitted to the hospital for tests, spent six days there, and then went to a skilled nursing rehab facility to receive physical and occupational therapy for two months. On April 1, I reentered the hospital directly from the rehab center for five more days for more tests. Then I was sent back to another skilled nursing center for more physical, occupational, and speech therapy. I did not return home until May 17, 2022. Even so, I am so grateful to God that the stroke wasn’t more serious. Having it so unexpectedly, however, has only reinforced to me how important it is not to take life for granted. If I am going to create art or designs, I need to do them now and not put it off until later. We also need to cherish our loved ones each and every day.
Obviously this website still needs to be developed. Thus I shall continue to tweak and add content. From here on out though I will be doing away with some blogs. It would greatly simplify my life not to have to post in 20 blogs LOL :) !
The other blog on this website that I am setting has to do with my RedBubble.com online store. Posts in that blog will be geared to talking about and introducing new product designs. This blog will be more personal and will concentrate more on fine art. If you are not familiar with RedBubble, they offer a variety of product types, including t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, stickers, tote bags, and more. Some of the RedBubble designs were commercially licensed by me while others are my original designs. I hope that all of them will make my customers happy.
Til later! Have bunches to do.
Marcia
