AI Art: Fantasy, Space

These digital images were all created by using the AI (Artificial Intelligence) Art Generator website, NightCafe. It is truly amazing what artificial intelligence can accomplish these days. I used solely text prompts (sometimes multiple) to obtain these images. Although you can use images in the art generation process, I used no images. I did, however, sometimes “tweak” the images in Photoshop.

Do I claim these images to be my artistic creation? No, not in the sense of another work where I would do the design, drawing, painting, or physical execution. So whose art are they, and are they art at all? I am still thinking about these questions along with a lot of other people. Are they machine art, or do they really belong to the artists who created all those images fed into the AI generators so they could learn how to do art? Are these images merely ones that have been retrieved from some cyber image library, are they to be considered derivative, or have they been modified enough to be classified as new images? As I learn more about AI generators and prompts, maybe I will be able to answer at least some of these questions. In the meantime, I post these images here under “fair use” for your viewing pleasure.
